Oh to have that clear, glossy, supple skin that reflects sun beams and remains hydrated!

At this age, dealing with random breakout brings a tear to my eye. I’m too old for PIMPLES!! At least that’s what I tell myself as I test to see if it’s ready for the popping. And oh how satisfying it is to pop, and the scar is an afterthought. Whenever my hands keep caressing my face, the consequences are hyperpigmentation and remnants of the pop scene.

To combat these pimple popping escapades, I’ve used a couple of products that get my skin right every time within two to three weeks of these senseless popping’s.

Disclaimer: I’m not a certified dermatologist, each skin is different, and what works for me, might not work for you. But I think it’s worth a try. I have normal to dry skin, my skin scars easily, and I get dry patches in the cold months. Though topical products work, I believe diet plays a vital role in the overall health of our skin and body. For example, whenever I drink alcohol, or eat candies, pastries, and other sugary foods, I’d have huge pimples. Be mindful of what you consume and always remember to drink lots of water.

Having said that, check out the list below of products that I use on repeat to get as close as I can to blemish free skin.

If I happen to wear makeup, I double cleanse, first with Palmer’s Skin Therapy Cleansing Oil.

Second, with Urban Skin Rx Even Tone Cleansing Bar. I use this twice a day, makeup or not. I absolutely love this! I am currently on my 5th container and I high key give this the credit for maintaining my skin tone despite my bad habits.

The next step is to tone. I use Burt’s Bee Soothing toner. Whenever I skip this step, I see slight differences in my skin. Not sure if I’m bugging but I think it’s worth adding to your routine (especially after wearing makeup).

I can’t believe I’m saying this but, serums work. Never thought I’d be a serum girly but this one right here. This one right here. It has me in a choke hold. I’ve got my third bottle now, and whenever I run out my skin looks pale and dull.

For those who have the occasional pimples and require spot treatments like myself, this product works wonders. By day three, that bad boy has been visibly reduced and is actively drying out.

For my dry under eyes, I use this product. However drinking lots of water and adequately moistening twice a day can drastically reduce your need for this in my experience. However, whenever my eyes are visibly in need of moisture, this product got my bags. Get it?? lol

I add my moisturizer to give my skin the added water it needs. On a lazy day, I only add my serum and this moisturizer. It isn’t oily, doesn’t clog my pores and leaves my skin feeling plump and supple.

To lock in all these wonderful layers, I then add Vaseline. Yes, good ole faithful. Contrary to popular beliefs, this product doesn’t clog my pores. Disclaimer, I have normal to dry skin that cracks and flakes in the winter months or even in a chilly room. Vaseline locks in the moisture and keeps my skin glossy, and more importantly supple. It works for me, so maybe give it a try, cautiously.

If this were my night time routine, it would stop at the Vaseline, however during my morning routine, I end with sunscreen. Sunscreen always goes last except for days when I wear makeup. On those days, I skip the Vaseline and jump to the sunscreen, then proceed with my makeup. This sunscreen leaves no white cast, it lasts all day (at leaves I think it does), and it doesn’t have fragrance. I’ve been using this sunscreen since Japan and I have loved it since.

Though I try to be consistent, I have stubborn problem areas that might only be resolved after a few esthetician visits, but until then, I’ll keep those areas at bay with these lovely products that keep my skin glowing, supple, and mostly pimple free (when I maintain my diet and stay hydrated).

I hope these recommendations are useful on your blemish free skin journey. What are some of the products you use? Tell me about it below!

STAY BLESSED,

DAYDRI
